About the role
Following the internal promotion of a long-serving staff member, the Diocese of Parramatta’s Mission Enhancement Team (MET) is excited to announce the search for a dedicated and organised Administrative Assistant to support the vital ministry of preparing couples for marriage. This role is integral to the successful delivery of marriage preparation programs and supporting the Mission Enhancement Team in their efforts to guide couples through this important life stage. The ideal candidate will be passionate about serving the community, possess exceptional organisational skills, and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring the smooth administration of the team’s work while maintaining the Diocese’s high standards of excellence.
While this role is part-time and a fixed term for 12 months, it requires 19 hours per week. The days worked are somewhat flexible, though Tuesday is preferred as a working day; however, this is not critical for the right candidate. The hours can be adjusted based on the candidate’s availability, for example, 2.5 days per week or alternating between 3 days one week and 2 days the next.
About you
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality administrative support to the Mission Enhancement Team (MET) This includes managing schedules, coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and handling correspondence, ensuring efficient operations for both leadership roles. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while always maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

To be considered for this role, you should ideally meet the following essential requirements:
- Provide general administrative support to the Chancellor for Ministries, and Head: Mission Engagement, including word processing, document preparation, photocopying.
- Maintaining database of contacts.
- Back-up reception.
- Coordinate various committee agendas, including preparation and circulation of agendas and backing papers, and taking minutes for meetings.
- Event organisation.
- Coordinate booking and setting up of meeting rooms including Catering.
- Office supplies ordered and accounted for.
- Coordinate events for various formation days, deanery forums and diocesan assemblies.
- Research, identify and share resources.
