Sacred Heart Parish Mount Druitt South is seeking a friendly, organised and motivated Administration Assistant to join our Parish on a part-time basis (15 hours per week).
Based at the Parish Office in Mount Druitt South, this role is ideally worked over three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday preferred), with some flexibility for the right candidate.
This is a rewarding opportunity to use your administration and customer service skills in a welcoming parish community while supporting the mission and ministry of the Catholic Church.

About the role
Reporting to the Pastoral Director (or delegate), the Administration Assistant will provide high-quality administrative support to the Parish. This is a varied role requiring excellent organisational skills, initiative and a welcoming approach when interacting with parishioners, clergy, volunteers and visitors.
Part-Time | 3 days per week
(with some flexibility for the right candidate)
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing general administrative support, including managing emails, telephone enquiries, correspondence and welcoming visitors
- Preparing meeting agendas and taking accurate minutes
- Preparation of the weekly Parish newsletter
- Invoice management using MYOB
- Assisting with accounts administration, including preparation of BAS documentation and coordination of GST reporting and payments to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO)
- Supporting the planning and coordination of parish events, meetings and activities
You will be joining a dedicated team committed to serving parishioners, volunteers and visitors with hospitality, professionalism and compassion.
About you
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
- A commitment to the ethos and values of the Catholic Church
- Highly organised with good attention to detail and time management skills to meet certain deadlines
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and have a proactive approach;
- A clear communicator with a professional manner
- The ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality and sound judgement when handling sensitive information
- A willingness and ability to work respectfully with people from diverse cultural and community backgrounds.
Essential Requirements
- A valid WWCC (or willingness to obtain)
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365
- Previous administration experience (preferably in a community, not-for-profit, parish or similar environment)
- Experience using MYOB (preferred)
- Experience using PADRE (preferred, however training will be provided for the right candidate)
- A current NSW driver’s license and access to a car
