About the role
Are you an exceptionally organised and proactive individual with a passion for supporting the vibrant life of a Cathedral Parish steeped in history? St Patrick’s Cathedral Parish is seeking a dedicated Cathedral Parish Coordinator to manage its diverse operational, administrative, and pastoral support functions.
This pivotal role serves as the key interface between the Parish and the Diocesan Chancery, ensuring seamless coordination across various departments including Finance, HR, IT, Property & Facilities, Communications, and Risk & Compliance. You will be instrumental in upholding high standards of administration, supporting parish leadership, and ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of Cathedral life.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Chancery Interface: Act as the primary liaison with Diocesan Chancery departments, ensuring compliance, leveraging expertise, and facilitating timely information exchange on matters such as IT systems, HR, WHS, communications, and financial reporting. This includes managing security incidents and ensuring appropriate clearances for staff.
- Pastoral & Office Administration: Oversee daily office operations, manage correspondence and records (including confidential data), maintain supplies, supervise cleaning services, and coordinate Parish Pastoral Council meetings.
- Staffing & Employment Support: Track staff leave and personnel matters, manage onboarding for Cathedral staff, and provide training on systems and processes.
- Volunteer Management: Assist with volunteer recruitment, induction, training, and database management, ensuring compliance and coordinating volunteers for major events.
- Financial Administration: Coordinate Parish Finance Council meetings, oversee purchasing approvals, obtain quotes, manage supplier accounts, process donations, and support fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Dean.
- Event Management: Coordinate and provide operational support for diverse Diocesan and Cathedral events, including liturgical celebrations, managing resources, budgets, and ensuring comprehensive risk assessments.

Your collaborative spirit will be key in building strong relationships with staff, volunteers, and Diocesan teams, all within a faith-filled environment.
