St Nicholas of Myra Parish, Penrith is a vibrant Catholic parish within the Diocese of Parramatta. We are committed to proclaiming the Gospel, celebrating the sacraments, nurturing faith, and building a welcoming and inclusive parish community.
We are seeking a faith-filled, organised and enthusiastic Sacramental Coordinator to join our Parish Team. This part-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and families on their faith journey and enjoys working collaboratively within a parish environment.
About the Role
Reporting to the Parish Priest and Business Manager, the Sacramental Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Parish’s Sacraments of Initiation programs, ensuring they are delivered in a welcoming, pastoral and well-organised manner.
The role also provides administrative support to the Parish Office and works closely with clergy, staff, volunteers, families and the Diocese to support the life and mission of the Parish.
Permanent Part-Time | 2 days per week

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation and delivery of the Parish Sacramental Programs for Baptism, Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
- Coordinate and support the Parish Sacramental Team and volunteers.
- Act as the primary contact for parents and families participating in the Sacramental Programs.
- Coordinate enrolments and maintain accurate sacramental records and documentation.
- Develop and maintain the annual Sacramental Program calendar.
- Liaise with parish staff, schools, volunteers and the Diocese to ensure the successful delivery of programs.
- Attend relevant Diocesan Sacramental Coordinators meetings and formation opportunities.
- Provide administrative and reception support to the Parish Office as required.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Parish Priest and Business Manager.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- A practising and fully initiated Catholic with a personal commitment to the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.
- A passion for supporting children and families in their sacramental journey.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team while also working independently.
- Sound judgement, professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- A current Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one before commencement).
- A willingness to complete Diocese of Parramatta Safeguarding training.
Experience in parish ministry, sacramental preparation, religious education or a similar role will be highly regarded.
