Ensuring a safe environment for young people is an essential requirement of any ministry initiative. A safe environment is one where young people are protected from physical, emotional and spiritual harm. Integrity in the Service of the Church establishes principles and standards for lay workers and volunteers of the Catholic Church in Australia. This program is an essential part of any youth leader’s involvement in ministry in the Diocese of Parramatta. Keeping Our young People Safe is a six-hour program, in collaboration with the Office for Safeguarding and Professional Standards, that builds the capacity of youth and young adults to create, promote and sustain, safe youth ministry.
