The FMM were founded by Helene de Chappotin (Bl. Mary of the Passion) in India in 1877.
The FMM is an international congregation dedicated to universal mission at work in 73 countries on five continents. It is part of the Franciscan family. Whatever the need, through prayer and action we seek to be present, witnessing to truth and love.
The first FMM arrived in Australia in 1941 and continue our missionary presence in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Alice Springs.
