People of all ages can engage with the Church’s work by participating in community outreach programs, volunteering in local parishes, and joining youth groups or senior ministries. Your unique skills and interests can play a vital role in building a stronger and more inclusive faith community in Western Sydney.
There are many ways to volunteer across the Diocese
- Catholic Care Neighbourhood Program (Blacktown)
- Catholic Care Community Visitor’s Scheme
- Diocesan Food Drive
- Join a Diocesan governance or pastoral council
- Volunteer as a Special Religious Education (SRE) Catechist
- Volunteer as a Liturgical Minister
There are many opportunities to volunteer in your local parish community. Every parish needs lectors, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers and musicians, and many are looking for people to help run youth and sacramental programs, and volunteers to join the parish council. Get in touch with your local church to find out more.
