Support Special Religious Education in Schools
The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) Parramatta is a vital program supported by 700 dedicated volunteers called Catechists who teach Special Religious Education (SRE) classes to more than 15,000 students in 195 public schools across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains. These passionate individuals nurture the faith of young minds, fostering a love for God and the Catholic Church.
Your tax-deductible donation can help our Catechists plant the seeds of faith in young hearts. Help spread the word of God in our schools.
Nurture young hearts in faith
Does nurturing the faith of our children hold a special place in your heart? CCD Parramatta plays a vital role in bringing faith formation to life for thousands of children in Western Sydney. With your generous support, we can continue to empower volunteer Catechists to share the message of God’s love in over 195 public schools across the Diocese.
Our dedicated Catechists give their time generously to provide Special Religious Education (SRE) classes for young people in Kindergarten to Year 12. These classes offer a safe and welcoming space where students can:
- Learn about the Catholic faith: In a fun and engaging way, children discover the stories of the Bible, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the traditions of the Catholic Church.
- Develop their faith: Through interactive lessons, discussions, and prayer, children are encouraged to explore their faith journey and grow closer to God.
- Build a sense of community: SRE classes provide a space for children to connect with other Catholic students, fostering friendships and a sense of belonging.
Your tax-deductible contribution to CCD Parramatta directly supports the vital work of our Catechists. Here’s how your donation can make a difference:
- Training and resources: Your gift helps provide ongoing training and educational resources for our Catechists, ensuring they are well-equipped to deliver engaging and informative SRE classes.
- Program development: Your support allows us to develop engaging curriculum materials that cater to different age groups and learning styles, keeping children excited about learning about their faith.
- Supporting our Catechists: Your donation helps cover essential costs associated with SRE programs, enabling our dedicated Catechists to focus on their mission of nurturing young hearts in faith.
Invest in the future of our Catholic communities and provide a strong foundation of faith for our children.
I first got involved seven years ago, and I’ve continued because I find it fulfilling and rewarding and I get a sense of joy because I know I’m helping fulfil the mission of the Church. Teaching young kids about God and seeing their faces light up each time I come into the classroom… that’s why I keep doing this.
