About the role

Holy Spirit Seminary is seeking a reliable and experienced Housekeeper – Supervisor to support the daily operation of the Seminary by ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across our facilities.

This is a full-time, ongoing role, working Monday to Friday, and includes hands-on cleaning duties as well as day‑to‑day supervision of housekeeping staff.

About the Role

Reporting to the Rector, the Housekeeper – Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Delivering high‑quality housekeeping and cleaning services across residential, communal and office areas
  • Supervising and supporting housekeeping team members in daily duties
  • Allocating tasks and ensuring work is completed to the required standard
  • Monitoring cleaning supplies and equipment and reporting maintenance or stock issues
  • Promoting safe work practices and correct use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

This role involves regular physical duties and requires a strong attention to detail, reliability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role
  • Demonstrated high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Experience using commercial-grade cleaning equipment (including dishwashers)
  • Sound organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise, multi-task and forward plan work activities
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with other staff and key stakeholders
  • Proven ability to provide guidance and support to others and to work collaboratively as a positive, reliable team player
  • Reliability, punctuality and a professional approach
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Capacity to undertake physically demanding work (standing, bending, lifting)
  • A current Driver Licence is desirable
  • Current Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain.
