Donate to the Holy Spirit Seminary
The Holy Spirit Seminary forms young men – our seminarians – for the priesthood and a life of service modelled on Christ. The life of a seminarian is modest and humble – they live to serve God and us. Your donation ensures they are nurtured and equipped to become the compassionate and inspiring priests our parishes need.
Your tax-deductible donation can make a real difference in their lives and the future of our Catholic community.

$75
can help fund a seminarian’s transport costs for community outreach visits to the lonely, sick, elderly and people in need.

$100
can contribute to teaching sacred scriptures, sacramental and faith formation programs.
Help nurture our future priests
We have the privilege of nurturing the vocations of men called to serve God and our parishes as priests. Your generous contribution to the Holy Spirit Seminary goes directly towards supporting the seminarians on their journey. Here’s how your gift can make a lasting impact:
- Provides a nurturing home: Your support helps cover the cost of housing, meals, and essential living expenses for our seminarians, allowing them to focus on their studies and spiritual growth.
- Supports their education: Donations help fund tuition fees, books, and other educational resources, ensuring our seminarians receive a strong foundation in theology, philosophy, and pastoral care.
- Shapes future leaders: Your generosity allows our seminarians to participate in vital formation programs, retreats, and pastoral experiences, preparing them to serve our communities with dedication and compassion.

By investing in our seminarians, you invest in the future of our faith. Imagine the positive impact a dedicated and well-formed priest can have on your parish – the inspiring sermons, the comforting guidance, the strong leadership.
Here’s how you can make a lasting impact:
- Make a one-time donation: Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to supporting our future priests.
- Become a monthly donor: Your ongoing support provides a stable foundation for the seminary.
- Spread the word: Share this page with your friends, family, and fellow parishioners. Let’s work together to nurture the next generation of Catholic leaders.
Together, we can ensure a vibrant future for our Church in Western Sydney.
“As a priest, you’re the father of many. You take care of God’s people.”
In his younger years, Jose Valentine (JV) describes God’s call to his priestly vocation as a “gentle coaxing.” The invitation of the Holy Spirit came to him through the words of others, until he finally accepted the call and entered the seminary.
JV is now in his fourth year of seminary studies at the Diocese of Parramatta’s Holy Spirit Seminary in Harris Park.
Far from his home in the Philippines, JV appreciates the support you provide as his spiritual family, helping him navigate challenges of daily study and pastoral formation.
With your support, JV prepares to join the next generation of priests, ready to serve God’s mission and people in local parishes and beyond.
“I’m still not worthy. But I know that God will make me worthy.” JV says.

“It was here I found my calling.”
As a child, Luke Thien Quoc Huynh felt called to dedicate his life in faithful service to his community. But it wasn’t until he attended an Open Day at our Holy Spirit Seminary in Harris Park, that he began to think more seriously about becoming a priest.
“After that day, a desire to join the Seminary burned fiercely in my heart. Working in the Chancery and visiting the parishes across the Diocese of Parramatta gave me solid faith in my calling to serve the people of this community. I have the greatest memories and it made me fall in love with them.
“I recognised that my true inner peace, joy, and happiness is rooted in the service of God’s people.”
I really admire these men for saying, ‘I’m going to try this call I feel I’m receiving.’ It takes a lot of courage and a lot of hard work. And not just outer work, it’s inner work, and that’s what our Holy Spirit Seminary is about. It’s not just a matter of getting facts in their heads, it’s a journey down to their hearts.
Fr Paul Marshall, Rector at Holy Spirit Seminary

If our faith is to be realised in people, and indeed ourselves, we need to take the very heart of what we say we believe in and make it come alive and be meaningful in a whole new situation. The young men that we walk with at Holy Spirit Seminary have the potential to dream, and to make those dreams a reality. In doing so, they will share their gifts with the people in our parish communities.
Fr John Frauenfelder, Vice Rector at Holy Spirit Seminary
