We’re back with food-growing workshops for the cooler months. Do you want to upskill in your ability to grow food where you are?
Joe is an experienced food grower with a market garden plot at Mamre Homestead. He understands the conditions affecting growth in Penrith and is a brilliant educator.
You’ll learn a lot in this evening workshop and be empowered to start growing some of your own food, with a focus on winter harvest crops.
We will be covering the following topics:
- Top crops for winter gardens
- Preparing a grow bed
- Planting and crop care
- How to make incredible compost: hot composting and cold composting
You will receive a variety of winter seeds to take home and plant in your garden.
Please note that this workshop differs slightly from the Saturday workshop. As a shorter evening session, we won’t have time to cover worm farming and liquid fertilisers.
About Joe
Joe has been growing food as a “micro farmer” for 15 years, and grows and sells local, fresh organic and seasonal produce. He has taught many workshops on growing food at home. You can find out more about Joe at his website.
