Support our ACYF Pilgrims
This year, funds raised from LIFTED Live will help support our ACYF pilgrims, who’ll be travelling to Melbourne from 30 November to 3 December 2025 to worship together during this Jubilee of Hope.
Our ACYF pilgrims are young people under 25 who are undergoing formation, including at this exciting event, and you can support their journey by coming along, saying hello, and offering them a special blessing.
About LIFTED Live in the Forecourt
Celebrating its 10th year, LIFTED Live coincides with the Feast of St Pope John Paul II (22 October), commemorating the founding of the Diocese of Parramatta. World Youth Day was initiated by St John Paul II in 1985, and he visited the newly created Diocese shortly after, in 1986. In 2015, a statue of St John Paul II was unveiled at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta, as a lasting tribute to the founder of our Diocese.
Reflecting his enduring message to young people, St John Paul II said ahead of the 12th World Youth Day in 1997:
“Dear young people, like the first disciples, follow Jesus! Do not be afraid to draw near to him, to cross the threshold of his dwelling, to speak with him face to face, as you talk with a friend. Do not be afraid of the ‘new life’ he is offering. He himself makes it possible for you to receive that life and practise it, with the help of his grace and the gift of his Spirit.”
The evening showcases the Diocese’s active youth ministries, highlighting the creativity, energy, and faith of young people across Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
Earlier in August 2025, Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta, encouraged the young people of the Diocese to participate in this Jubilee Year celebration in Rome to connect with the wider Church and deepen their faith. Answering that call, 32 pilgrims from the Diocese of Parramatta travelled overseas for the Jubilee of Youth Week, bringing their experiences and inspiration back to their local communities.
The event is FREE! Bring your fam and friends!
