Founder St. Camillus de Lellis wanted his members to have Christ as their model; “I did not come to be served but to serve and to give life.” (Mk.10:45).
The Order dedicates itself “before anything else to the practice of mercy towards the sick” and ensure that the human person “is placed at the centre of attention of the world of health.”
The Camillians began its ministries in 2002 in the Diocese of Parramatta at Sacred Heart Parish Westmead with Westmead Adult and Children’s Hospital, Cumberland Hospital and Private Hospital, eventually with Blacktown, Mt Druitt and Nepean Hospitals.
