Throughout Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, Catholic men meet locally to deepen their faith, connection and wellbeing. For lay men whose discipleship is lived in family life, work or service, these communities offer a place to pray together, speak honestly about issues that affect them and support one another in faith. In shared brotherhood, they are strengthened in their relationship with Christ and encouraged to live their vocation with courage and purpose.
Parish-based Men’s Groups
A number of parishes across the Diocese of Parramatta have formed their own local men’s groups. These groups welcome all men to deepen their faith, share life experiences, and recognise the presence of God in everyday moments. Together, they build brotherhood, strengthen self-awareness and grow through open conversation, reflection, and community.
Men’s groups around the diocese include:
- St Joseph’s Men’s Group, Blacktown
2nd & 4th Fridays of the month, 7pm – 9pm - Our Lady Queen of Peace, Greystanes
Every two months on the 2nd Saturday of the month - St Paul the Apostle, Winston Hills
2nd Thursday of the month: 6pm – Church, 8pm – Parish Hall - St Margaret Mary’s Men’s Rosary Crusade, Merrylands
1st Saturday of the month at 10am
If your parish’s Men’s group is not listed here, please contact us so we can add it.

Catenians Parramatta
The Catenians are a fellowship of Catholic men and their families committed to living and sharing the Gospel through friendship, mutual encouragement, and service. As part of a wider network of like-minded people, members support one another through all stages of life.
They meet each month in local groups known as Circles to pray together, plan charitable and social activities, share a meal, and often hear from a guest speaker.
The City of Parramatta Circle holds monthly meetings every 4th Thursday of the month at Mary MacKillop Spirituality Centre, Baulkham Hills.

The Shed, Emerton
The Shed at Holy Family Parish in Emerton is a community initiative within the Diocese of Parramatta that continues to prioritise First Nations men’s mental health, while warmly welcoming anyone seeking support, healing or connection. Established over 20 years ago to support Aboriginal men at risk of social isolation and suicide, it has grown into a welcoming “place to belong and be heard” where First Nations people can gather, share a meal, yarn and access practical support in a culturally safe environment.
By intentionally fostering connection, listening deeply to people’s stories, and linking them with support services, The Shed embodies the Diocese’s pastoral vision of accompaniment, community and compassionate ministry. It sits alongside the broader work of Catholic Care Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains as a practical expression of care within the Diocese’s wider outreach.
