Your faith in action eases suffering
I offer a prayer of thanksgiving for your kind support of people in need of faith, hope, charity, and love. Because of your compassionate generosity as a Parramatta Catholic Foundation Ambassador, Catholic Care chaplains like me can be present for people experiencing pain, suffering, fragility, and heartbreak.
As a child, I spent much of my life in hospital. Born with hypotonia – a condition that causes weak muscles – I endured treatments, surgeries, and long stays away from home and family. My sister, who has the same condition, needed even more care. I remember feeling scared and alone – and longing for someone to talk with, pray with, and remind us that we weren’t on our own.
Thanks to your heartelt kindness, I can be there for families navigating the most painful moments of their lives – children battling serious illnesses, parents overwhelmed with grief, and hospital staff who also carry the weight of trauma and loss. Through your sustained giving, you’re joining us chaplains in our ministry.

I’d like to thank you for the ongoing support you give our chaplains who serve in the prisons and the hospitals in Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains, because without your faithful generosity, our work wouldn’t be able to be achieved.
You see Christ in everyone, and everyone has a role in that place. Even though the brokenness. The dark pools of trauma within our prisons are enormous. And we are able to be little beacons of light, because of your Christian kindness.
