The Jubilee Year of Hope offers an opportunity for pilgrimage—not just locally, but to sacred sites around the world. From Sunday 7 September to 25 September 2025, adults aged 35+ from across the Diocese of Parramatta are invited to embark on a transformative journey through Greece, Turkey and Rome, tracing the footsteps of the early Church and experiencing the Jubilee in the Eternal City.
This 19-day pilgrimage will bring the scriptures to life, offering moments of deep reflection, prayer, and community as you walk in the path of St. Paul and the first Christians, culminating in the Jubilee experience in Rome.
Pilgrimage Highlights
- Follow the path of St. Paul, visiting Athens, Corinth and Ephesus
- Experience the faith of the early Church, with visits to Patmos and the Seven Churches of Revelation
- Enter through the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica and celebrate the Jubilee in Rome
- Explore the Vatican, the Colosseum, and Rome’s major basilicas
- Celebrate Mass in sacred sites, including the House of the Virgin Mary in Ephesus and St. Paul Outside the Walls
This pilgrimage is a unique opportunity for adults who are 35+ years old to journey together in faith, connecting with our local Church community while experiencing the Jubilee Year in sacred places. As Pilgrims of Hope, we are invited to deepen our faith through this shared experience of prayer, history, and renewal. If you are aged 18-35, you may wish to join the Young Adults Pilgrimage to the Jubilee of Youth in Rome instead.

Visiting Athens, Ancient Corinth, Kalambaka, Meteora, before traveling through Turkey, then returning to the Greek islands of Patmos and Samos.
TURKEY
(4 nights)
Visiting five of the Seven Churches of Revelation, traveling through Izmir, Pamukkale, Kusadasi, and Ephesus.
Rome
(5 nights) + TRAVEL
In Rome, pilgrims will take part in the Jubilee Year of Hope, entering through the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica and visiting major sites, including the Vatican, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and the Catacombs.
