Our Lady of Czestochowa, Queen of Poland, also known as the Polish War Memorial Chapel, is located at 116-132 Quakers Road, Marayong, NSW.
Consecrated in 1966 by Cardinal Norman Gilroy, the church was built by Sydney’s Polish community to serve Poles across New South Wales. The six peaks of its roof symbolise the six million Polish lives lost during World War II.
Architect Michael Dysart designed the church with a striking spire-like tower inspired by the Jasna Góra Shrine and the Sydney Opera House. From above, the structure resembles an eagle in flight, symbolising resilience and new beginnings.
The current rector is Fr Artur Botur Schr from the Society of Christ for Polish Migrants.
