St Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Catholic Community

The St Alphonsa Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Parish serves a vibrant Catholic community in Parramatta, Blacktown, and greater Sydney. With 14 family units and over 600 attending Sunday Mass, the Mission celebrates the Syro-Malabar liturgy in its Synodal form, honouring St Thomas the Apostle’s legacy.

The community offers Catechism classes for 350+ students with 20 volunteer teachers every Sunday at St Michael’s School, near its Mass Centre at St Michael’s Church, Blacktown. Daily Holy Qurbana (Mass) is held, with two Solemn Qurbanas on Sundays at 58 Orwell St, Blacktown.

Founded in 2009, the community includes professionals from Kerala and across India, embracing rich Syrian Catholic traditions.
