FreeJoin Earth Kin, a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy Parramatta, for a fascinating and faith-filled online conversation about one of the smallest – yet most essential – parts of God’s creation: insects.
Professor Nigel Andrew, Chair of Science at Southern Cross University and one of Australia’s leading entomologists, will guide us into the intricate world of insects. Discover how these often-overlooked creatures support biodiversity, pollinate our native plants, feed other wildlife, and even help manage waste.
“Insects may be small, but they are mighty,” says Professor Andrew. “They’re vital to keeping ecosystems alive and healthy.”
Sr Valda Dickenson rsm, founder of Earth Kin, will host the Zoom session. She says insects remind us that “every part, no matter how small, is part of the bigger ecosystem. If you care for a small part, you care for all.”
This webinar is part of the Diocese of Parramatta’s commitment to mission through its Pastoral Plan – to be a Christ-centred Church that listens, serves, and goes out in love. It also marks the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ invitation to care for our common home.
Whether you’re a nature lover, educator, or just curious about the creatures in your garden, this is a gentle and insightful way to spend your Saturday morning.
